Working closely with the Scentre Group design team, Arcadia developed the concept for an exciting retail and food + beverage precinct to bring new life to an existing centre.
Challenging existing typologies in the Adelaide region, the design closely aligns microclimate with aesthetics to create a unique dining experience accessible to all ages. The versatility is evident as day turns to night and the kids in the water play areas are replaced by a more mature audience who are offered alfresco experiences, fire pits and live music.
Drawing inspiration from the local vegetation and landform elements of the nearby Tea Tree Gully, the materials and character are unique to the site and will offer a regional flavour to visitors.
This project won the Civic Landscape Architecture award at the 2019 South Australian AILA Awards. Arcadia’s vision concept , in collaboration with Scentre’s input for the Concept Plan for the development application, helped guide the design development of the project, which was delivered by Adelaide-based Outerspace Landscape Architects.
