Green Square Town Centre: Site 07 & 17

Green Square is one of Sydney’s most significant urban transformation projects. Arcadia is working with achitects Tzannes on Green Square Town Centre: Site 07 & 17, a mixed-use development for Mirvac located on the edge of Green Square Plaza.

Arcadia’s designs for the roof garden and upper level communal open space for Site 07 and Site 17 are inspired by the organic forms of the architecture and the mosaic of ecologies that used to flourish on site. The concept aims to mimic the expansive native landscape that once formed the character of Alexandria, as it transforms into its modern adaption.

The landscape for Site 07 will work synonymously with the unique curvature of the architecture while offering passive moments of recreation enveloped and screened within the lush planting scheme. Larger groups are offered a spacious bespoke tilted lawn or communal gathering spaces on the sunken viewing deck. The landscape on Level 06 encourage passive activation between neighbouring residents, a space for small group activity, informal play and exercise space while the planting strategy provides architectonic screening to residents private courtyards.

The Site 17 roof garden offers unique views of Green Square Plaza, which the landscape strategy aims to frame, embrace and enhance. Segregating the main pedestrian flow along the meandering spine, allows a series of passive and communal nooks for smaller and medium size groups. Using a minimal surface materiality, high end timber finish slows the pace of pedestrian flow to allow for intimate and large gatherings and for residents to entertain, relax and soak up the atmosphere. Bespoke shelters mimic the organic language of the architecture and blend the Green Square Ground Plaza language to the roof plane.
