Ashmore Road – Building A

Working with Turner Studio,  Arcadia has designed the open space for Building A of Park Sydney, one of the largest master planned projects in Sydney, by developer Greenland Golden Horse.  Arcadia’s site-specific design response celebrates the history and heritage of the site and provides connections to the adjacent new McPherson Street Park.

It is Arcadia’s vision to interpret features of the old factories and steel works previously on site, into a historical walk, ideally using materials drawn from the sites industrial heritage. The development site is characterised by large industrial sheds with triangular pitched roofs, with this repetitive triangular form reflected in the surrounding heritage buildings and terrace housing adjacent the site. The design will reflect this structure of the built form through the paving patterns, garden beds and walling.

Erskineville is characterised by numerous green parks and tree lined streets. This strong green character will be continued through the new development, with lush garden beds and planting.

Park Sydney, located in the inner-city suburb of Erskineville, is a transformational urban renewal project by Developer Greenland Golden Horse. The residential community will feature nine development blocks ranging in height from two to eight storeys which will be delivered over seven stages to revitalise the 6.9 Ha site between Ashmore Road and Coulson Street.
