On this constrained site in Willoughby, Arcadia worked collaboratively with DJRD to create a series of accessible, fun and educational outdoor spaces. Existing trees provided some challenges that the scheme responded to with a stepped landscape and constructed elements that respect the trunk levels. Wherever possible, emphasis was put on creating seamless indoor / outdoor flow to ensure the children are immersed in the landscape. A blend of natural and robust materials will provide an environment that promotes exploration and discovery in the outdoors.
