Tricare Runaway Bay

Arcadia has designed outdoor spaces for Tricare Runaway Bay which have used rainforest and coastal character as design drivers to relate to regional context.

Understanding the diversity of age and ability of users of the space, Arcadia has used proven aged care techniques to evoke memory in space and accessible way finding, whilst also providing meaningful activities with intergenerational opportunities.

Integrated stormwater devices have been designed within the landscape to appear as ephemeral creek beds that occur naturally within the region, referenceing boulders, stones and sand.

For sustainability, low maintenance landscapes have been installed using largely local and native planting. The selection of planting contributes to the biodiversity of the natural environment of the region.
