Our work has twice been honoured at the recent Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) State Awards.

In New South Wales, our design of Friedlander Place in St Leonards took home an award in the category of ‘play spaces’. The jury applauded the flexibility of the playground, describing it as allowing for “…imaginative, active and nature play, while well designed seating and nearby cafes ensure a comfortable place for multigenerational family groups to spend time.”

In Queensland it was a tertiary education project that caught the attention of the awards’ jury. This AILA award recognised our design for the University of Queensland Reconciliation Garden. The jury praised our work that “…transformed a back-of-house circulation space into a nurturing and enjoyable retreat for the occupants”. They went on to describe the space as skilfully navigating “…the embodiment of a new reconciliatory conversation”.
