This significant Sydney CBD site has been transformed into a premium commercial office and retail offering capitalising on its prime heritage precinct location adjacent to Barrack Street. Influenced by Sydney’s laneways of past and present, the public domain experience is integral to Barrack Place due to it location on the CBD’s longest city block. This makes the cross city pedestrian link provided by the site essential to its success. The two east-west cross site links provide two inherently different experiences through the site. The manipulation of velocity through the site is achieved via a number of elements that stimulate the senses and enhance spatial awareness. Working in collaboration with Architectus, Arcadia has reinforced the character and aesthetic of the spaces through an integrated signage, wayfinding and art strategy with strong graphic appeal, that presents a cohesive and considered outcome for this exciting new precinct.

Barrack Place is the first building in Australia to receive WELL Core and Shell Gold Precertification and Platinum rating from the the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™) and has achieved 6 Star Green Star Office Design v3 certification from the Green Building Council of Australia. The project recently won a 2019 Urban Land Institute (ULI) Asia Pacific Award for Excellence at the ULI Asia Pacific Summit in Shanghai.
