Westpoint Blacktown

Arcadia, in collaboration with ARM Architects, has provided a design that has rejuvenated the public domain at Westpoint Shopping Centre, Blacktown. The new space brings together culture and nature in an immersive roofscape that has become a green destination for all of Blacktown. With an eye-catching arrival experience providing an identity for Westpoint, and clear through-site connections to nearby transport, the roofscape provides a diversity of amenity including, respite, relaxation, recreation and play.

To enhance the biodiversity value and improve the microclimate, a mix of Indigenous and exotic species have been used, forming a concentration of the vegetation communities of the Cumberland Plane Woodland typology. Complementary to the built form, the landscape materials palettes craft a rich narrative. The materials draw from the natural materials and processes of the surrounding landscapes with various textures creating a unique sense of character.
