City Tattersalls Club

Arcadia has designed the landscape for the redevelopment of the City Tattersalls Club, which will develop the airspace above the iconic Sydney CBD site, with a 49-storey tower that will include residential apartments and a boutique hotel. Arcadia is collaborating with BVN, architect for the new building and FJMT, the architect overseeing the redevelopment of the heritage components of the original club buildings.

Taking cues from the arch and angular form of the building, the elevated oasis of Level 14 is a focal point for the design offering residents a space for lounging, congregating, entertaining and working. Three unique zones – the Rooftop Lounge, the Green Room and the Sky Terrace – will offer a diverse range of amenity and activity, designed to celebrate new city views delivered by the building height.

A celebration of the site’s unique history will be reflected in the materiality, detail and integrated within the landscape design language across the site, unifying the streetscape strategy, green façade and Level 14 open space. The planting strategy offers a contemporary Australian native garden experience, with Australian Endemic Plants embedded in the landscape design for a botanical interpretation of Indigenous story-telling. Cultural planting speaks to Indigenous understanding of plants and the relationship they have to community and Country.
