The project site presents an opportunity to contribute a sustainable mixed-use development within this prominent inner city corridor, with the distinctive U-shaped, Arkhefield-designed building prioritising the surrounding scenic views of the river, park, and city skyline.
Driven by Brisbane City Council’s Benchmarking document ‘New World City Design Guide: Buildings that Breathe’, Breakfast Creek Quarter will integrate living greenery on every level to embrace South east Queensland’s subtropical climate and provide a lush urban environment.
Inspired by the site’s natural context, the landscape palette will draw on local materiality and interplay with an abundance of plants that will envelop the building, providing a transformative experience for occupants and visitors alike.
There will be strong connections physically, socially and visually with a focus on biodiversity, users health and well-being, experience and lifestyle.
