Aveo Bella Vista Seniors Living

Arcadia designed the masterplan for Aveo’s flagship senior living community, Bella Vista, working in collaboration with Jackson Teece. Stage one of Aveo’s community, The Waratah, is complete offering a range of passive and active outdoor amenity for residents and the community.

With the Bella Vista development intended as a third precinct for Norwest, the landscape masterplan expands upon the existing series of high-quality public open spaces, streetscapes and recreational zones whilst displaying a level of premium character and quality within the planting, materials and finishes of the proposed design. Promoting health through landscape is at the core of Arcadia’s vision for Bella Vista, as access to nature and the outdoors is shown to have significant therapeutic health benefits.

Pedestrian access and circulation is key to the landscape, which promotes walking with multiple walkway systems allowing residents and visitors to move easily through the community to access various open spaces. Delivered as part of stage one, a timber boardwalk system circulates the lake, encouraging walking, as well as providing viewing platforms and sloping lawns for residents and visitors to use for passive recreation. In later stages, a nature trail including a section with more challenging jogging and walking tracks, will weave through the site.

The Waratah offers an array of communal private space for residents, with a community kitchen garden, outdoor gym and a yoga lawn. In later stages, passive and active outdoor amenity will include an alfresco café precinct, private communal gardens, a bowling green and a Community Hub.

The masterplan includes a Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF), with gardens and secure open space designed to provide a visually engaging outlook from within both resident rooms and common rooms. Paths will allow for connection to the primary pathway network so residents can undertake passive exercise / walking and enabling visitors to rejoin the predominant circulation system onwards to the restaurants and public amenities.
