Saint Ignatius College, Riverview

Arcadia, together with architects PMDL, have developed a masterplan for the entire senior school campus, which will provide a framework for the future physical development of St Ignatius College on the current Lane Cove site, ensuring the best outcomes for teaching and learning and ongoing support for the Riverview community. Stage One of the Ignis Project has just been completed with the Therry Building and surrounding Therry Courtyard now in use.

The Therry Courtyard delivers a teaching and learning environment that supports and reflects the philosophy of Saint Ignatius College. By creating a variety of quality open spaces, Arcadia has designed a landscape allows the school to extend the teaching and learning opportunities from 14 to 24 learning areas, along with increasing active and passive recreation spaces.

To enhance connection to the surrounding bushland and Lane Cove National Park, a variety of robust materials make up a cohesive palette. By using hard-wearing materials that will maintain their desired appearance throughout the years in this coastal environment, the landscape features will be readily available in the years to come. These materials include concrete, hardwood timber, and natural stones such as granite and sandstone.
